Wait With Patience

\\begin{document}

So, I'm so done with myself.

It's 23:49 on October 15, and I've spent hours trying reconnecting my monitor to my laptop. The final solution is: keeping the cable plugged in for a while and resisting the urge to plug and unplug it repeatedly.

It's just so stupid and funny.

Though many people complain with their laziness, a lot of them seem to also have a tendency to be impatient and eager to act when confronted with a problem.

Today–oh it's 00:08 now. Yesterday was not the first time I'd done such thing. Around 5 or 6 years ago, I was using Arch Linux with a WM. One day, I thought, "Just let me try KDE once. It'll be a joyful journey." Then I spent hours trying to find out why my laptop had a black screen after I logged in. Finally, I figured it out–KDE was taking a while to load itself. Joyful!

So, you may wonder, how I suddenly got enlightened to just WAIT it with PATIENCE? Um… well… actually… I spent too much time on it that I had to bring my "broken" laptop to my programming class, and I was just listening to my teacher when I unexpectedly discovered that a brand new KDE desktop was being displayed in front of me. Simple, right?

We tend to jump into action as soon as possible when we encounter worrying issues, even when it's better to wait or it's an OPTION to wait. Standing and doing nothing seems to be a choice that does nothing to help with the problem but that's not the truth, and what is the truth is that that is merely what your brain likes, and your brain may develop preferences irrationally. We shall get used to the fear of doing nothing, because we, as humans, shall have the ability to make rational choices.

That's somewhat ironic.

This time is similar. I was complaining about the problem and sharing relevant information with my friends in a QQ group, when the familiar and long-awaited kernel messages were printed on my tty–a sign for successful connection. Then then monitor lit up with black background like every single tty.

I believe these are not the only two episodes with similar storylines.

Sometimes, when anxious, try waiting with patience. Even if the problem still persists, inner peace is what makes it worthwhile.
